Counting days between two dates
The result is the number of midnights between the two dates, so Monday to Tuesday is 1 day. Turn on inclusive counting to include both ends, which is how leave, hotel nights and notice periods are often counted: Monday to Friday inclusive is 5 days. The calculation ignores time zones and daylight-saving changes.
Working days
Working days count Monday to Friday only and do not know about public holidays, which differ by country and state. Subtract any holidays that fall in the range yourself. Use the date calculator to add a number of working days to a date.
Weeks, months and years
Weeks are whole weeks plus leftover days. Months and years use calendar stepping from the start date, so 31 January to 28 February is one month, and 15 March to 15 June is exactly three months.
Common uses
Days until a deadline or holiday, length of a notice period, pregnancy and project timelines, interest days for a loan, visa validity, warranty and return windows, and how many days you have been at a job.
