Why forms reject your photo and signature

Exam and government portals check two things separately: the pixel dimensions and the file size, and the file size usually has a minimum as well as a maximum. A 284 KB photo at 413 × 513 px fails an SSC form that wants 20–50 KB, and a 9 KB signature fails IBPS, which wants at least 10 KB. Most online resizers only shrink; this page makes the file land inside the range: it lowers JPG quality until it is under the maximum, then pads the file (without touching the picture) if it is under the minimum.

How to use it

Choose your form; the width, height and KB range for each item fill in from the latest notification and can be edited if yours says something different. Drop a phone photo for each tab, drag it into the frame, and download. For signatures, thumb impressions and declarations, tick Clean the paper to turn a photographed page into a scan-like white background.

Typical numbers

IBPS and SBI: photo 200 × 230 px 20–50 KB, signature 140 × 60 px 10–20 KB, left thumb 240 × 240 px 20–50 KB, handwritten declaration 800 × 400 px 50–100 KB. SSC: photo 3.5 × 4.5 cm 20–50 KB, signature 4 × 2 cm 10–20 KB. UPSC: 350–1000 px, 20–300 KB. NEET: photo 10–200 KB with name and date printed, signature 4–30 KB. PAN: photo 3.5 × 2.5 cm and signature 2 × 4.5 cm, each up to 50 KB.

Name and date under the photo

NTA (NEET, JEE) and Kerala PSC ask for the candidate's name and the date the photo was taken printed in a strip below the picture. Type them in and the strip is added inside the required dimensions, so the final file still measures exactly what the form asks.
