Exam Photo Checker: Will My Photo Be Rejected?

Checks your photo against the exam's rules (face size, background, blur, lighting, tilt, pixels and KB), tells you what to fix, then fixes it on your phone.

Why exam forms reject photos

Most rejections come from a short list: the face is too small or too close, the background is not plain and light, the photo is blurry, the face is dark or half in shadow, the head is tilted, or the file is the wrong pixel size or outside the KB range. Some forms also reject black-and-white photos, caps, dark glasses, and for SSC any spectacles. Photos forwarded on WhatsApp or taken as a screenshot often fail because they lose resolution. Rejections usually arrive weeks later as a deficiency mail or an admit card that never comes, so it is worth checking before you submit.

How the check works

Pick your form and drop the photo. A face detector finds your face and eyes, and the page measures how much of the frame your head fills, whether it is centred and level, how sharp it is, how bright and even the light on your face is, and whether the background is plain, light and free of colour. Each check is marked pass, look at this, or likely to be rejected, with what to do about it. Everything runs on your device; the photo is never uploaded.

What Fix it does

Fix it crops the photo so your face is the right size and in the right place, straightens a slight head tilt, brightens a dark face, replaces a coloured or busy background with white, adds the name and date strip when the form asks for it, and saves a JPG at the exact pixel size inside the KB range. Then it checks the fixed file again, so you see what the portal will see. It cannot fix blur, closed eyes, glasses or a face that is cut off; those need a new photo.

How to take a photo that passes

Stand about half a metre in front of a plain white or light wall, facing a window in daylight. Ask someone to hold the phone at your eye level about one metre away, using the back camera, not the selfie camera. Look straight at the lens with a neutral face, eyes open, ears visible if the form asks, no cap and no dark glasses. Take a few, then check the sharpest one here.

Face size for SSC, IBPS, NEET and UPSC

Most forms want the face to fill about 50 to 80 percent of the photo height, with a little space above the head and the shoulders just showing. SSC uses 3.5 × 4.5 cm (413 × 531 px at 300 DPI), IBPS and SBI 200 × 230 px, NEET and JEE a passport-size photo with your name and date below, and UPSC 350 to 1000 px square. Pick your form above; the numbers are filled in and can be changed if your notification says something different.

Unofficial, please verify

This checker is not linked to SSC, IBPS, NTA, UPSC or any exam body, and passing it does not guarantee acceptance. It catches the common, measurable reasons for rejection. Things a picture check cannot judge, such as how recent the photo is, are listed below the results for you to tick off. The notification of your exam always wins.
